BARBIS RUDER
Barbis Ruder, Senior Lecturer at TransArts (die Angewandte), is project lead of PHANTOM LAB and works as an artist in sculpture and performance. She develops exhibition concepts and stage pieces that challenge the physical and virtual bodies of both performers and viewers. Topics are media, medicine and technology, as well as bodily limits and questions of intimacy. In her promotion 2023 in Artistic Research at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under the guidance of Hans Schabus and together with her research team Phantom Lab, she developed sculptures at the interface of medical and body techniques as researcher of the INTRA-Project “Towards an Aesthetics for Prosthetics”.
